Cozy Crafts Club - Beginner Sewing Workshop: Scrunchies
Curious about sewing but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect introduction to using a sewing machine — and you’ll leave with a cute, handmade scrunchie and a handy reference guide to use at home.
In this class, we’ll walk through the basics of how a sewing machine works, including threading, winding a bobbin, stitch selection, and sewing simple seams. No prior sewing experience is needed — this class is designed for true beginners.
You’ll learn:
Sewing machine basics & terminology
How to thread your machine and wind a bobbin
How to adjust tension and choose the right stitch
Basic straight stitching and seam practice
How to construct a scrunchie from start to finish
What you’ll make:
1 finished fabric scrunchie to take home

Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, you’ll be introduced to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink in this workshop. We will cover all the basics and prepare you to add those unique lettered details to your snail mail, wedding paper goods, home decor, and more! The perfect crafty night out!
Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper, and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop!

Mojo Ruckus Live
Mojo Ruckus is Charlotte’s premier rock-n-roll cover band. Formed in 2013, the band has torched the stages of Charlotte’s most recognized venues including The Double Door Inn, The Rabbit Hole, Amos' Southend, Smokey Joe's, and numerous festivals in the Charlotte-Metro area.
